Our History
The Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) in Kingston, Jamaica, has a rich history. Founded in 1923, the YWCA Jamaica is affiliated with the World YWCA and focuses on promoting the well-being of women and girls in all aspects of their lives ¹.
The organization has been instrumental in providing various services, including housing, farming, education, vocational training, HIV/AIDS awareness, youth development, and more. Their efforts have been geared towards empowering women and girls, promoting equality, and fostering a sense of community.
Throughout its history, the YWCA Kingston, Jamaica, has maintained a strong commitment to its mission, adapting to the changing needs of the community while remaining true to its core values. Today, the organization continues to play a vital role in promoting the welfare and development of women and girls in Kingston and beyond.
